AGARTALA: A senior leader of the BJP announced on Wednesday that the Tipra Motha, the primary opposition party in Tripura, is set to join the BJP-led government ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
With 13 MLAs in the 60-member assembly, the Tipra Motha is expected to secure two ministerial positions, the leader revealed.
This move comes shortly after a tripartite agreement was inked in New Delhi, aiming to address the concerns of the indigenous population of Tripura. The agreement involved the Tipra Motha, the Tripura government, and the Centre, marking a significant step towards resolving longstanding issues.
