Khumulwng, Correspondent: TTAADC Government conducted a felicitation program for outstanding meritorious students of Class 10th and 12th, Final Examination 2022-23 and Medical NEET Entrance Examination at Nuai Auditorium, Khumulwng on Thursday.

"Perhaps this is the first time that the TTAADC government has taken such an initiative to felicitate or give merit awards to all the Tipras who have excelled in the academic course with more than 90% marks and in the NEET examination, our administration has undertaken with limited funds. This initiative," said EM Rabindra Debbarma, who is holding the education portfolio. "Since we have more than one lakh students across the state, parents are directed to be proactive in educating their children with proper guidance from the administration and media to encourage them.

"We are thinking of providing facilities to financially deprived students for BA, BEd and DLed, even paramedical courses through the patronage of the council and we are reaching out to institutions.

"In the coming year, we are planning to have 157 English medium schools in TTAADC area, besides emphasizing to alleviate teacher shortage in council-run schools by recruiting 200 more teachers".

Mr. Debbarma confirmed the opening of five more residential schools in North, Dhalai, Unakoti, West and South regions and referred to a letter written to the central government for the same and hoped to complete it by 2024.

The felicitation program was organized by the Education Department of TTAADC. It was inaugurated in the presence of CEM, Purna Chandra Jamatia, Leader of Opposition, TLA, Animesh Debbarma, EM Education, Rabindra Debbarma and other EMs and dignitaries
