Kumarghat ,Correspondent: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of three stations in Tripura under the Amrit Bharat Scheme on August 06, 2023

The three stations are at Dharmanagar, Kumarghat and Udaipur.

Recently Amrit Bharat Station Project was launched to develop railway stations on Indian Railways. So far 1309 stations of Indian Railways have been identified for redevelopment under this scheme.

A total of 91 stations of NFR have been identified under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. On August 06 the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 56 stations will be laid. Out of 56 stations, there are 32 stations in Assam, 03 stations in Tripura, 16 stations in West Bengal, 03 stations in Bihar and one station each in Nagaland and Meghalaya. 5100 crore has been allocated for redevelopment of 91 stations under NFR of Rs. Out of which Rs.1960 crore will be used for redevelopment of these 56 stations.

The scheme consider development of stations on a continuous basis with a long-term approach. It includes preparation of master plans and their phased implementation for improving facilities at stations such as improving station access, circulation areas, waiting halls, toilets, required lifts/escalators, cleanliness, free Wi-Fi, kiosks for local products. Schemes like 'one station one product', better passenger information system, executive lounge, designated space for business meetings, landscaping etc. consider the requirements at each such station.

The scheme also considers building improvements, consolidation of stations on both sides of the city, multimodal integration, facilities for the disabled, sustainable and eco-friendly solutions, provision of ballast less tracks, 'roof plaza as per requirement, phased and feasibility'. and building a city center at the station in the long term.
