Agartala, Correspondent: Five NLFT (BM Group) cadres surrendered to the Tripura Police on Friday. The surrendered NLFT cadres are - Kanat Mohan Tripura, Gertajoy Tripura and Mansubar Tripura of Wakhiram Roja Para under Manikpur police station & Nakshatra Debbarma of NLFT (BM) cadre from Jagaibari of Bisharamganj police station and Emang Debbarma of Jagya kobra village under Champahowar police station. According to the police, they had joined the NLFT (BM) group in the last one-and-a-half years. Their detailed interrogation will help the security forces gather more information about the organization's activities.
Police said their surrender would also motivate other cadres to leave the path of violence and join the mainstream. According to an official press statement, the Tripura Police is committed to ensure the state government's zero tolerance policy against insurgency.
