New Delhi: Leaders of opposition TIPRA Motha and BJP ally IPFT met separately with Home Ministry officials and MHA Adviser for Northeast AK Mishra in New Delhi today. Both sides raised the demand for a separate Tipraland in their meeting with MHA officials and Mishra.

The concept of a 'Greater Tipraland' state has not been specified, although it is supposed to include several other northeastern states and parts of Bangladesh in addition to Tripura.
At the party's plenary session held on 16 July, Tipperary Motha endorsed 'Greater Tipraland' as the key demand for a constitutional solution to the tribal problem.
Debbarma, who is a scion of Tripura's former royal family, formed Tipra Motha after resigning from the Congress in 2019. The regional party now has 13 MLAs in the BJP-ruled state's 60-member assembly.
