Leaders of opposition TIPRA Motha and BJP ally IPFT met separately with Home Ministry officials and MHA Adviser for Northeast AK Mishra in New Delhi today. Both sides raised the demand for a separate Tipraland in their meeting with MHA officials and Mishra.

After a meeting with MHA officials and AK Mishra - who is also said to have been chosen as the 'interlocutor' for Tripura, Debvarma said the meeting was held positively and MHA officials listened to their demands patiently. He claimed that ruling BJP ally Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT). 

Raise similar claims. "We have said that our demand is within the framework of the Constitution of India and for the survival and existence of the Tiprasa community. We have not compromised. It is about the future of the Tiprasa people and I am glad that the IPFT has also raised the common demand of Tipraland. If we are united we will win MHA officers. something," he said.

He did not mention the issues discussed in the meetingi with MHA officials and its results. However, he said, there will be further discussion later ipft Minister Sukla Charan Noatia also told the media. 

They held a meeting led by Prem Kumar Reang with Mishra on the rights of tribals in the state and the demand for a separate Tipraland".

“Our party (IPFT) was there from the beginning supporting 'Tipraland' as it is our main demand," he added. 

He asserted that long meetings were held on the subject of a separate Tipraland and on seeking a Roman script for Kokborok.

The IPFT also deliberated on the Constitution (125th Amendment) Bill, 2019 towards the empowerment of tribal communities in the state. Debbarma, who led the delegation, was preceded by the promise of constitutional solutions holds true.

"Five months of trolling, abuse, insults ended today as we officially met HM officials along with other organizations. I pray that the Almighty gives some wisdom to those who have mocked me in the last few months," he said in a Twitter post.

Earlier on July 1, he had called Union Home Minister Amit Shah and requested him to bring a "constitutional solution" to the demand for a "Greater Tipraland".

He also discussed the issue with Shah and BJP president JP Nadda after the swearing-in ceremony of the saffron party-led government here in March.

The concept of a 'Greater Tipraland' state has not been specified, although it is supposed to include several other northeastern states and parts of Bangladesh in addition to Tripura.

At the party's plenary session held on 16 July, Tipperary Motha endorsed 'Greater Tipraland' as the key demand for a constitutional solution to the tribal problem.

Debbarma, who is a scion of Tripura's former royal family, formed Tipra Motha after resigning from the Congress in 2019. The regional party now has 13 MLAs in the BJP-ruled state's 60-member assembly.
