 Adivasi Author and Reseacher Shri Dharinjoy Tripura Awardeed the Fourth “Ramnika Samman Puruskar-2022”



New Delhi: Adivasi Author and Reseacher Shri Dharinjoy Tripura from Tripura was awardeed the fourth “Ramnika Samman Puruskar-2022” on 20 August 2022. The award was instituted this year by the New Delhi based research organisation, Centre for Adivasi Research and Development (CARD) in collaboration with ‘Ramnika Foundation’, for literary works and translation in adivasi languages. Smt. Brinda Karat ji presented the award to Mr. Dharinjoy Tripura at a function held in New Delhi. Author Shri Dharinjay Tripura could not attend the ceremony and accept the award due to illness. Former Lok Sabha MP Shri Jitendra Chaudhury accepted the award on behalf of the author.



A prolific author and researcher Shri Dharinjoy Tripura was born on 1st January 1990 AD in Arunda Roaja Para (Natinmanu) of Chawmanu, Dhalai District of Tripura. 


Shri Dharinjoy is the founder editor & publisher of the Kokborok journal ‘Gairing’ (2013 to 2018), editor of Tripura yearly Magazine ‘Dong’ (2014 to 2019), founder editor of ‘Kherengbar’ yearly literary magazine (2013-2015), founder editor of ‘Gairing Koktun’  Kokborok Literary Newspaper (2014-15), founder editor of ‘Maitang’ (2019) Tripura literary magazine and the Associate Editor of ‘Bisi Ruphai Mukumu’ (1st March 2020), joint editor of  ‘Twisa’ Tripura literary magazine, and editor of ‘Kokmalama’ the weekly newspaper in Tripura Langauge from 13 December 2020 to 25 April 2021 etc. 


Currently Dharinjoy Tripura has published 24 books on rhymes, poems and essays in Tripura, Kokborok, Bengali and English. 


Also, he has published rhymes, poems, folktales, essays etc. in various magazines and newspapers of Tripura and Bangladesh such as Prachi Wall Magazine, aitorma, Chini Halok, Chini Khorang, Dong, Gairing, Goriya, Kherengbar, Khumpui, Lama, Raima, Saima, Prachi, Jijnasa, Yarwng, Yapri, Imangni Khumbar, Jorani Khorang, Emang (Bangladesh), Yakbaksa (Bangladesh), Giriprabha (Bangladesh), Santua Journal (Bangladesh), Uansokma (Bangladesh), Twimuk, Mamita, Purbabhas, Kokyung, Kokbokhiri, Maitang, Yakpai, Yakpai-2, Bisi Ruphai Mukumu, Tangbiti, Twisa, Kherebai, Ruang, Khapangni Khorang (Bangladesh), Hamsamung (Bangladesh), Chwngkhiring magazines, and Gairing Koktun, Kwthang Laibuma, Dainik Sambad, Syandan Patrika, Chini Kok, Uakhring Newspaper. 


The Ramnika foundation is the brain child of Ramnika Gupta, a former trade union leader, politician, writer, translator and editor. She was member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from 1979-1985. In her long journey as a literary figure, she has chronicled lives of adivasis, dalits and women through their histories, literature and experiences. She has translated stories from Malayalam, Santhali, Odiya, Nagpuriya and Adivasi dialects into Hindi. She is also the coordinator of the All India Tribal Literary Forum, which tries to showcase and integrate tribal experiences in mainstream literature.
